Which instant messaging for development group?

Hi InvoicePlane devs,
I would like to know what do you think of the possibilities to talke to each other.
We have the following tools available:

  • GitHub Repo (Issue discussions)
  • these forums

But I would like to provide another way to chat more directly and in real time. Here are two options I would prefer:

  • own IRC Channel (Freenode: #invoiceplane)
  • Slack.com (Invite only)

What do you think? Do you have any other ideas?

I’m a passionate IRC-User since several years. Mostly adium and security-,typo3-related channels.
So I would suggest IRC. :slight_smile:
I don’t know much about slack.com (I never used it).
