InvoicePlane on a subdomain

So, having previously hosted InvoicePlane locally, I have decided to implement it within my websites subdomain within a secure and backed up server. I have chosen to do this in knowledge that it all my invoices etc are backed up every day without worry.

Now my questions are regarding how safe it is to put InvoicePlane on the web. Is it worth it or should i keep my A record disconnected (so my host file can see the site but its not accessible to others)?

Who has theirs on a subdomain etc?

If you remove the A-Record you simply have the same scenario like you host it locally as noone can access it but you with your edited Host-File.

So actually this is nothing I would recommend, but it will work.

I have mine set up on a subdomain.
