I have recently upgraded from 1.4.8 to 1.5.10
On generating the PDF i get
An Error Was Encountered
Unable to load the requested file: invoice_templates/pdf/.php
Pls navigate in your IP installation to “System Settings” ==> “Invoices” ==> “Invoice Templates” and make sure you have selected for every option a template that exists on your filesystem.
(all black bars on the left side have to be set)

Depends on what you are aiming for.
You still do not have any Email Templates set. But that would not cause the error what this thread is about.
Your settings are good. Seems like it is what default should be.
