How does recurring invoice work?

I am using IP and Stripe. My question is when it comes to the next recurring invoice, does IP auto charge the payment then send a receipt to client via IP?

Or does it just re-create the invoice and send to customer and the customer still ahve to enter credit card payment everytime?

No. Recurring payments are not yet included in InvoicePlane. It just creates a fresh copy of your base invoice with the new date. Clients have to manually pay the invoice again.
