I change language in setting/system settings/General to portuguese, but system not chaged, stay in eng. in drectory “application/language/Portuguese Brazilian” all files are there.
any idea?
Try to rename the folder that contains the language files to a single word without spaces, like Portuguese_Brazilian
Ok, could you check the contents of the ip_lang file inside the Portuguese folder? Check if there are translated language lines.

I have same issue today after Softaculous installation.
I did try to change the language in the config.php file and it worked, but not for all pages.
