I have two problem with my installation of Invoice plane.
First when i créate project i can’t select the client like the picture show, it’s a selection menu with no client

Have the same issue, and creating a project without a customer results in a db error as well:
A Database Error Occurred
Error Number: 1364
INSERT INTO ip_projects (project_name) VALUES (‘ccERP’)

Line Number: 691
Edit: that DB error is most likely due to the fact that in de table, client_id cannot be empty.
