I tried to add an email template, but it kept breaking off the HTML after the emoticon. I read somewhere that it could be the character set of the database, which is supposed to be utf8mb4 instead of UTF-8. Could that be the case?
Use the Hex or Dec value of your emoticon. For example 😁 will print -->
