I have been traying to install IP on Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04 and localhost by MAMP.
Non of this attemps worked…
On ubuntu 14.04 the problem was that I was not able to install php 5.6 or up.
On ubuntu 16.04 the problem was that some of the php libraries dident exist apparently (e-unable-to-locate-package-php-hash, php-openssl, php-zlib)
On localhost by MAMP is not working as well this is the error: http://[::1]/ventas/index.php/welcome
This has absolutely nothing related with the IP script itself.
Unfortunately this board does not intend to help people installing/configuring a web server.

I freshly installed IP this morning on a xubuntu 16.04 vm. There is no package for php-hash, php-openssl, php-zlib. So dont do an apt-get install for that.
Continue the install and you can try a phpinfo to check openssl, zlib and hash. My phpinfo() says there are present on my machine.
You can delete my post if It bothers on this board.
