[Solved] Periodic invoice numbers

Will the invoice number of periodic invoices start at 1 for the first invoice and will they increase automatically when sent?

Hi

It behaves basically like a normal invoice, so it will take the next invoice number of the assigned Invoice Group. You can find the current value in Settings -> Invoice Groups.

So if I create an invoice in December of this year, let’s say invoice 2015099, to be scheduled every 1st of January, it will get invoice number 2016099 when it’s sent out on January 1st 2016?

Exactly, but only if you don’t create another invoice in the meantime.
E.g. this will probably be the case if you have more than one customer:
Recurring invoice 2015: 2015099
other invoice: 2015100
Recurring invoice 2016: 2015101

So 2016 invoices will also have a 2015 prefix if created in 2015?
That make no sense to me. Why would you have that option in the first place if it’s static?
