Importing / Sample Data

Is there a way to populate my database with sample data for demo purposes other than manually enering them into the system?

Also, I noticed an Import Data option in the menu but if i click it, it only goes to a blank screen with a menu. Is this still for development or have I missed something in my installation?

Information about the import process are listed here: https://wiki.invoiceplane.com/en/1.0/system/importing-data

After importing the demo database, this is what I got when I went into the Settings menu:

Did I make a mistake?

Huh…?! What is that? Could you please try to translate this with Google Translate.
The database is take from my local system and the alert or whatever this is does not appear there.

Hello, can we please have the invoiceplane sample demo data to use?

Hello, any help with the sample data import as we really need assistnace on this?

Hello @noxolo welcome to InvoicePlane. Could you please explain a bit further what you need assistance with?

Hllo @naui95 , we need hep on getting a sample demo data for the invoice plane as we are trying to work around it. So with that said, we would like you to help on sharing the demo sample data with us for the invoice plane so we can better understand and use it.

We cannot share with you the data from the demo website.

As an alternative you can create some dummy data yourself by running an installation of invoiceplane and filling it up with some data (should not take too much time). An other way would be to write down some seeders to automatically populate the database.

As Naui said: we cannot share the demo data.
Here’s the link to the documentation on importing files:
https://wiki.invoiceplane.com/en/1.6/system/importing-data
place your newly created .csv files in uploads/import in your InvoicePlane installation:

The files to import must be located in your uploads/import

This will get you clients, invoices, invoice_items and payments.
It might even get you items (products) and maybe even users as well.

  • Start out with a small amount of lines, like 2 or 3, 2 or 3 invoice_items per invoice
  • That will give you a trial run.
  • If that succeededs, expand to 10 invoices, clients and payments.
  • Make sure 1 invoice has at least 1 invoice_item line
